Island Energy provides gas and electric services
within the physical boundaries of Mare Island, City
of Vallejo.
Services
Electric System
Electric Power is supplied from the local
transmission grid by two 120K-volt lines, each with
a capacity of about 30 megawatts, and is
distributed to customer’s service transformers
throughout Mare Island on a 12,000-volt primary
system. Customer connections range from the
typical single phase 120/240-volt residential
service to large three-phase industrial services at
480-volts or higher. Distribution and service lines
are almost entirely underground.
Gas System
Natural gas is supplied by a 10 inch line from the
local gas transmission system at 100-psi, and
distributed throughout Mare Island at 30-psi;
customer connections range from standard low-
pressure residential services to high-capacity
industrial services up to the available distribution
pressure.
